For Admits and ParentsHow much does Admit Weekend cost?
Admit Weekend is a completely FREE event for all black/African American admits. So you DO NOT need to bring money for food or anything else. If you would like to bring money to buy items at our Bruin store, Ackerman Union, feel free to do so. I am an out-of-state student, do you all cover my transportation? We can only sponsor a limited amount of students for free transportation, so if you need financial assistance with transportation please apply to our Travel Scholarship Questionnaire, ASAP. I am an California resident, do you all cover my transportation? Transportation is provided, please contact [email protected], to arrange your traveling. Will I and/or my family still be able to attend Bruin Day if we participate in Admit Weekend 2014?
The parents may stay with their admit while they are checking in and waiting for their host at their designated check in lounge. Parents are expected to pick up their students by 12 pm on April 20th, 2014. Parents are also invited to come to our Parent Mixer on Thursday night and our annual UBAA Dinner on Saturday night.

For Current Students and VolunteersDo I have to sign-up through the ORL website to host?
YES!!! Are their certain skills needed to volunteer? No special skills are needed to volunteer, generally. The only position that requires a specifice skill is for transportation which may require you to be CPO certified. Is there a minimum time commitment to volunteer? No, time blocks are general segments of availability. Once events are finalized you can update the times you want to volunteer per event. |
